Monster of Montauk developed at Plum Island
A couple of days ago a creature that has been described as the Monster of Montak washed up on the beach close to Plum Island. Plum Island is a government research facility and many people are wondering if this Montauk Monster is some type of research experiment gone wrong. Others thing this is some sort of photshopped images designed to gain a little publicity. Who knows whether its true or not, but a lot of people are concerned about the Montauk Monster.
Personally I don’t know but I do know what ever this dinosaur, turtle looking creature may be he sure is ugly. Scientist have had trouble actually identifying what this Monster of Montauk actually is as described in the following excerpt:
Scientists have yet to identify what type of animal the "Monster of Montauk" truly is, according to reports on Thursday.
The "Montauk Monster" washed up onshore of a New York beach in Montauk, Long Island. Several onlookers took pictures of it, sending it via e-mail on Wednesday.
According to Newsday, Alanna Navitski, an employee for Los Angeles’ Evolutionary Media Group, was behind the media frenzy. Navitski sent the picture of the "monster" to Anna Holmes, the managing editor at Jezebel, who then sent it to Gawker.
Gawker published the photo with the headline "Dead Monster Washes Ashore in Montauk".
"I got this e-mail and opened it from my girlfriend who works at Harris Publications, which has nothing to do with anything," says Navitski as she retells the story. "Anyway, my girlfriend’s sister was there with her friends and one of them took the picture. And we were like, ‘This is the scariest shit we’ve ever seen.’"
Navitski discredits the rumor that this picture is apart of a viral marketing scheme. "And so — I’m in marketing — were like, ‘Maybe we should send it to a few blogs and see if anyone else is as freaked out as we are,’" said Navitski. "We had no idea that it would turn into this. Now it’s literally a beast of its own. But it has nothing to do with any kind of campaign."
Many believe that it is a sea turtle without a shell or the remnants of a government animal-testing facility nearby. However, no scientific specialist has yet to identify what animal or creature this "Montauk Monster" truly is.

Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSI Digital SLR Camera

I’ve been looking at various models of digital cameras lately and the Canon EOS Rebel Digital camera has caught my eye. This camera has not been released yet, but from initial reviews it seems like a solid offering in the digital camera space. The camera is not exactly cheap for a digital camera, but considering the features of the Cannon EOS Rebel it does not seem overly expensive either. Here are some of the features available on the Canon EOS Rebel digital SLR camera.
Canon announced details and a ship date today for the EOS Rebel XS, its second SLR following the XSi.
The company seems to be aiming the Rebel XS at travelers and consumers who want to step up their photography – stressing ease of use as one of the main selling points.
The new Rebel model has Canon’s DIGIC III image processor, a 2.5-inch LCD screen, a 10.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, Live View, Auto Lighting Optimizer, a 7-point-wide-area autofocus (AF) sensor, and 3.0 fps continuous JPEG burst rate where the number of consecutive shots in a burst is only limited by the capacity of the flash memory card in the camera.
Canon’s OS Integrated Cleaning System, which features both hardware and software-based dust removal technology, will ensure that the sensor stays clean and that consumers will not have to take their cameras to the shop for maintenance often.
The new EOS Rebel XS will use Optical Image Stabilized lenses, meaning that a user with shaky hands must use an OIS lens to achieve shots without blur. It works with all of Canon’s EF and EF-S lenses, and is included with the Image Stabilizer-equipped EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS with the standard zoom lens kit package. The Canon Rebel XS will be available in black or silver colored body variations.
Live View will let parents at their kid’s soccer game feel like their using a point and shoot. And for further help, the camera’s Auto Lighting Optimizer detects dark areas of an image and automatically adjusts brightness and contrast to ensure optimal image results.
The EOS Rebel XS should be available this August; the estimated list price is $699.99.
Obama Audacity Watch

Well the Obama supporters will be up in arms about the Obama Audacity Watch. The GOP has released a new website which questions Obama’s ability to lead the country with the audacity watch. The site questions some of Obama’s past associations as well as looks at his past.
I’m sure the Pro-Obama supporters will be all over this and crying about the website. But this is politics and I don’t expect this little audacity watch web site will be the last time that the Obama camp has to field these types of questions. The heat is just starting to crank up in this campaign and after the Democratic convention you will really see these types of items come out as the election moves towards November. Obama either needs to learn how to play or he needs to give up and let experience play the part.
