California Special Election 2009
Californians go to the polls today to vote on a series of propositions proposed to help balance the California Budget. Now I don’t live in California but I don’t think these propositions are really a good idea. They are basically a lot more taxes for the people of California when they are having a hard time getting by now. Of course this same issue is apparent all over the country. States all over the country are experiencing budget shortfalls because of all the people who are currently out of jobs and not paying taxes.
This is a knee jerk reaction to a short term problem. do you think these new taxes will go away once the budget of California improves. I doubt it. Most of Californians do not support these taxes which is a good thing. If the propositions pass in California, then similar propositions will be proposed in other states.
Perhaps California should just give back those millions in Unclaimed funds to the people in California so they can tax those and help to balance the budget.
