Find Gas in Atlanta

Finding Gas in Atlanta is becoming more and more of a problem. Atlanta has had a gas shortage for a couple of weeks now. The Atlanta Gas shortage started as a result of Hurricane Ike and the many people rushing to fill up their gas tanks prior to the Hurricane. This has produced a little game in most parts of Atlanta and its surrounding areas where its very difficult to find gas. Even when you can find a station that has Gas the price is very high and it only lasts a few hours before word gets out and people run on the gas station. Personally I’ve been conserving my gas and only use gas that I’ve needed to go to work. I don’t have the time or energy to search for gas in Atlanta. It very hard to locate and every time I turn around someone is asking me where can you find gas in Atlanta. I don’t have an answer as to who may have gas in Atlanta at the moment. If you need gas then good luck. There where some stations that had gas earlier on Powder Springs Street in Marietta, but that was yesterday and they may not have any gas now.

I recently purchased a Book that is going to really help me with my energy costs. Its not going to help me with my gas bill or finding gas in Atlanta, but the simple directions describe in this book could very well save thousands of dollars a year on my electric bill. I was a little skeptical at first but since it only cost a few dollars I decided to give it a shot. I’ve been pleasantly pleased and its so easy even I could figure out how to easily create my own renewable electricity power plant.

The Mortgage Housing Bill

The house has approved the Mortgage Housing Bill that President Bush has said he will sign into law as soon as it hits his desk. This is an interesting development and may help many people to avoid losing their home. It has been reported that as many as 1 in every 171 mortgages within the U.S. may be in default or danger of becoming in default and for those people this could be helpful legislation. Of course some people say this is just a government bailout program, personally I have not decided yet.

So who is eligible for the housing bill mortgages.

To be eligible

  • You must have financed your home between January 05 and June of 07
  • You must live within your home
  • You must be spending at least 31% of your Gross monthly income on your mortgage payment.
  • You do not have to be default on your loan and your payments can be up to date, but you must prove that you will not be able to continue making your payments.

How to Apply

  • You can go to an FHA-Approved lender and visit hud.gov to find the approved lenders
  • This program could allow you to reduce the amount of your mortgage by as much as 40% in some areas.

Some people call this a bailout since it is a 300 billion dollar bill and it may be, but in the shape that our economy has entered into then it may make sense. Of course personally I would rather see congress do something about the high gas prices. Many people say the market controls the gas prices, but this is crap. Congress could make some changes and announce that we will start to drill our own resources  and it would reduce the amount of gas immediately which would give these people who are not able to make payments on their homes able to pay them once again. Gas prices affect everything we buy and it seems as if Congress just does not care about it. Perhaps if all these congressmen and women would stop taking money from the Oil companies then perhaps they could do something about it.

Bloom Energy

If we are going to solve our energy problems then we must starting looking at renewable’s such as Bloom Energy participates within. This is one of the companies that Al Gore has recommended as a good investment for the future. Now some people are attacking Al Gore for recommending this company since he has a stake in the company.

Bloom Energy’s vision is to use solid-oxide fuel cells which allow homes to generate the electricity used in the home. The fuel cells would use hydrocarbon fuel as a power source, and produce just half the carbon dioxide that today’s power plants do. One fuel cell should be enough to serve a home; homes could sell excess power back to the grid. Bloom Energy’s biggest hurdle is cost. The generators are currently very expensive and for it to be a viable solution for most home owners then it will need to reduce the cost of these machines to a few thousand dollars.

Personally I don’t see anything wrong with Gore recommending Bloom Energy or any other renewable energy company. The truth is is does not matter if you are Al Gore, recommending these companies or T.Boone Pickens recommending his renewable energy plan with Wind power.  The main point is that we must start to develop additional energy sources rather than continue to send our money to the middle east for oil. Boone Pickens estimates the 700 Billion dollars are sent to other countries every year from the U.S. to support our oil habits. Now we all know about the credit crunch in the US and the situation our economy is getting in. our banks are failing and Fox News has reported that the Oil rich nations like Saudi Arabia has invested Billions in our banks. So we give them our money for Oil, this put’s pressure on the U.S dollar and causes it to fall. This causes the banks to lose money and so then the people who sold us the Oil buy up our Banks.

We are going to lose our entire country if we don’t do something about this. We will be working as tenants of other countries so we will basically be owned by people who don’t really like us much. Personally I don’t like the sound of this. It is much better for us to drill our own oil of the coast of the U.S. in the short term and continue to develop alternative renewable energy resources such as what Bloom energy is working on. We should be  able to build enough Wind and Solar farms in the South West U.S. to power all our Electrical Energy needs. If you add to the developments of General Motors and their development of the  Volt car, which is a long range electric car that you can plug into any normal wall outlet. If we all bought these cars and used electricity to power our transportation needs that we create ourselves then we can eliminate our dependence on foreign oil and take our country back.
