Who would not want a flat belly, well that is exactly what the flat belly diet promises. Its known by many names including flat belly diet, my flat belly diet, mufa, as well as others. One reason for all the different names for the flat belly diet is the variations of the flat belly diet.

But does the flat belly diet work, I’m not really sure as my belly is not flat its fairly round. I’m thinking I may need to take a look at one of the variations of the flat belly diet and see if I can lose some unwanted inches from my mid section. The flat belly diet may be the answer, but a better answer than the flat belly diet or any of the other hundreds of flat belly diet promises is to eat sensibly and then work out. Working out with both cardio and weight training has always helped me more than any fly by the night diet plan. Or perhaps the flat belly diet is the answer so I can work on looking good for the upcoming holiday parties and even into swimsuit season.

Crossfit Workouts

Everyone wants to get or stay in shape. Especially with the upcoming Holiday festivities where a lot of people eat a little too much at Thanksgiving or Christmas. One way to stay in shape is by implementing a Crossfit workout routine. The Crossfit workout is not only effective its also fun.

Crossfit Workout

CrossFit is a strength and conditioning fitness methodology. Its stated goal is to create “the quintessential athlete, equal parts gymnast, Olympic weightlifter and sprinter.” Crossfit is not sport-specific. It promotes broad and general overall physical fitness. CrossFit does not use weight machines. It features varied high intensity workouts based on functional movement. Most workouts last 20 minutes or less. CrossFit workouts can cause injury or death from rhabdomyolysis in rare cases, most often involving former athletes returning to training after a period of inactivity.

Description
CrossFit maintains that proficiency is required in each of 10 fitness domains: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. CrossFit uses free weights, kettlebells, gymnastics rings, pull-up bars and many calisthenics exercises. CrossFit may call on athletes to run, row, climb ropes, jump up on boxes, flip giant tires, and carry odd objects. They can also squat and throw medicine balls against walls.

CrossFit workouts typically call for athletes to work hard and fast, often with no rest. Many CrossFit gyms use scoring and ranking systems, transforming workouts into sport. Many CrossFit athletes and trainers see themselves as part of a contrarian insurgent movement that questions conventional fitness wisdom.

CrossFit adaptations include programs tailored for children, seniors, triathletes and martial artists. Most CrossFit gyms also offer “Boot Camp” or “Elements of CrossFit” introductory classes for beginners.

History and growth
CrossFit Trainer Certification, 2007Greg Glasman, a former gymnast, created The CrossFit training methodology in the 1980s. The program gained the attention of various military and law enforcement agencies. In 1995, Glasman was hired to train the Santa Cruz police department. The first CrossFit gym opened in Santa Cruz in 1995 and the CrossFit website was launched in 2001. | Much of CrossFit’s intellectual property, including exercise demo videos, is freely available on its website. There are now more than 650 CrossFit-affiliated gyms worldwide.[6] The affiliate model rejects franchising, requires few start up expenditures, and allows for a diversity of approach. CrossFit headquarters certifies CrossFit trainers and publishes “The CrossFit Journal”. According to Canada’s Business News Network, CrossFit is “one of the fastest growing fitness movements on the planet.”

Some Crossfit athletes perform the “Workout of the Day” posted at the CrossFit website and never visit a CrossFit gym. Others formulate their own workouts based on CrossFit’s principles.

In 2007, the United States Marine Corps began a shift in its physical training program. The emphasis is moving away from aerobic training and toward more combat-oriented “functional fitness training” by incorporating CrossFit principles. Many U.S. and Canadian police and fire departments, U.S. Army Special Forces and the Canadian Forces now base some of their physical training on CrossFit principles.

CrossFit is also being adopted by a growing number of high school and college sports teams.

Criticism
CrossFit critics include writers who use the term “cult-like”, fitness professionals and a senior officer who commands the U.S. Navy’s Center for Personal and Professional Development. They say Crossfit workouts are so intense that participants risk injury or even death from rhabdomyolysis. In October of 2008, a Virginia jury awarded $300,000 in damages to a man disabled by a workout at a gym which was a CrossFit affiliate at the time. (The trainer was uncertified and CrossFit was not named as a defendant.)

CrossFit responds to criticism by citing an essential element of its methodology: workouts should always be individually scaled and varied. Critics fault CrossFit’s high participant drop out rate (up to 80% at Glassman’s Santa Cruz gym). CrossFit responds that its high intensity and competitive atmosphere are not for everyone. CrossFit says the drop out rate is also high at conventional gyms — where many clients rely on machines, record few performance gains, and pay in advance for annual memberships they quickly abandon.

World Vegetarian Day

October 1st is World Vegetarian Day and many people use this day to cut down on the amount of meat they eat or not eat any meat on World Vegetarian Day. Its too late for me as I already had some meat to eat on this World Vegetarian Day.

World Vegetarian Day is a great idea and it would probably help everyone’s health if we all ate less meet and more vegetarian meals. Its hard for most people to do and I’ve decided to go vegetarian several times in my life. I never stick to it which is probably more of a mental block type thing than anything else. Perhaps I’ll start back today on World Vegetarian Day and cut out the meat from my diet. I always seem to fell better after a few days of eliminating meat from my diet. studies have shown the a vegetarian diet is a lot better for you and vegetarian foods are much easier for your system to digest.

The history of World Vegetarian Day

World Vegetarian Day is observed annually on October 1st. It is a day of celebration established by the North American Vegetarian Society in 1977, "To promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism."
