Saving Energy using Solar Screens

With the high cost of gas these days everyone is looking for methods to save a little money on energy costs. One such method is to install solar screens. Solar screens help save energy and thus money by blocking out the suns UV rays. If you have windows that face the sun directly either in the morning or afternoon, installing solar screens can help to lower your utility bill. When windows face the Sun as it low in the sky, it heats up the room facing the sun which means you must use more electricity to keep the room cool.
You can pick these solar screens up at most stores which sell home repair supplies such as Home Depot or Lowes and they are very easy to install. Its basically that you cut the solar screen material to size and then install them on your windows. There are books at the home repair stores which will walk you right through it, but anyone with some mechanical ability should be able to do it easily. I’m not very mechanical and it only took me a little while to get the solar screens installed on both sides of my house and I have a lot of windows. The solar screen materials are not very expensive and will save me money in the long run.
