SNL Obama Skit

Well Saturday Night Live has upset the left whit their snl Obama skit which aired Saturday night. I took some visits around the left wing blogs such as the Huffington Post and saw just outrage over this video in the comments. At the time of this writing there where almost 6000 comments on the post. Most of these comments where very negative against Saturday Night Live for doing the skit. Now these are the same people who loved it when SNL was making fun of the Republican candidates.

I don’t get it. this is political satire and anyone is fair game when it comes to satire. Now while the people on the Huffington Post thinks this is unpatriotic and just plain wrong, you can’t dispute the fact that many of the items in the video are true. The video basically shows Obama in a bad light pointing out all the things he has started or promised, but still has not delivered, such as closing Guantanamo Bay, passing healthcare reform, etc..  Now people can blame the republicans if they want, but the truth is the politicians on the left can’t really make up their mind on these items. Not to mention that items such as the healthcare debate has not been handled correctly. A lot of this falls right in Obama’s lap. He has been indecisive and constantly changes his message, plus considering how much the plan costs has raised a lot of concern throughout the country. You can blame the right if you want, but I’ve been to a couple of healthcare protests and there are just as many Democrats and Independents at these rallies as there are Republicans. The Democrats just have not made their case for this and the cost could spiral out of control without really improving anything. This is the hold up with healthcare not the Republican senators.

As the snl Obama skit illustrated, the democrats control both the house and the Senate as well as the Whitehouse, they could push this through if they wanted, but they spend too much time fighting within themselves. Obama did accomplish one thing since he has been president that SNL failed to include in the skit, he pushed through a 750 billion dollar stimulus package which he stated would stop unemployment from going over 8 percent. Well how did that work out since unemployment came out last week at 9.7 percent at the national level with several states about 10 percent. SNL failed to mention this in its snl Obama skit, so they have not totally turned against President Obama.

One thing the Huffington Post commenter’s need to realize is that this snl skit speaks to the truth as a lot of snl skits do. They spoke to the truth when they where slamming Sarah Palin and they speak to the truth now. Obama has made a lot of promises but really isn’t delivering on them. He seems as if he does not have the needed experience to be president. He went to solicit the Olympics for Chicago when the outcome was not certain which made the Office of the president look weak. The Presidency is an office not a man and he is not helping to ensure our long term position in the World with these sort of antics. We are the United States of America, the greatest country of all time, and we don’t beg for anything.

Perhaps Hilary, McCain, Huckabee, and all the rest who said Obama did not have the necessary experience to be president, were right about that one. If you still believe in Obama then stop worshiping him and start pushing him to do his job. Only then will he have a chance of becoming the president you expected him to be. Right now he is not accomplishing anything good and will wind up hurting the people more than you can ever believe if he continues down his current path. Otherwise expect to get pissed by more of these snl Obama skit videos,
