Paulson Bailout Plan

The entire world is talking about the bailout plan proposed by Paulson which could cost the taxpayers up to 700 billion dollars. I’ve been watching this with interest as it does seem like an awful lot of money. I had made up my mind before I heard the speech last night from President Bush on how we got here and why we must now pass legislation for this bailout plan for the Financial institutions. I’ve heard the arguments of how we can’t afford the bailout plan and all the blame games about how greedy profiteers have gotten into this mess where a bailout plan may be the the only thing to save us.

It seems to me like blaming the people who caused this is valid, but it really does nothing to help us with this crisis that is facing our economy. If we all want jobs and expect to eat then this plan may be the only thing to save us. I’ve heard plenty of arguments against the plan, but at the same time none of the people really against it have brought forth any additional ideas. We must do something and the bailout plan may be exactly what we need. The truth is no matter whose fault it was that brought us to the Bailout plan, the consequences of allowing the entire economy to fail is not an option. Surely everyone can agree with that assessment. So if you don’t support this bailout plan then bring forward an economic plan that may help shore up our failing economy, before we find ourselves living in another great depression.

Welcome back!
