The worst thing for coffee, either ground or beans, is air. As soon as air reaches the coffee grinds it immediately starts to lose their flavor. Ground coffee is vacuum packed to retain freshness, but once the seal is broken it starts to lose its taste. For great tasting coffee you simply need to grind your own coffee beans.

To ensure great tasting coffee grind your coffee beans right before you brew your coffee. Do you know the best way to grind your coffee? Learning how to grind your coffee beans is an important part of making great coffee.

Different types of coffee calls for different types of grinds. So you’ll need to learn to use your coffee grinder properly if you want to make the freshest best tasting coffee possible.

Of course for the real coffee fanatics and connesieurs you may want to invest in a complete bean to cup coffee machine such as the delonghi ESAM5400
.

Percolator/ French Press Coffee

If you plan on brewing your coffee with a percolator or a French Press coffee maker then you’ll need a coarser grind. Simply tap the grind button a couple of times,.

The coffee beans should now have been broken up into smal pieces. If the ground coffee looks like powder then you have overdone it, get a new batch and start again. Remember to tap the button and not hold it down.

Automatic drip coffee makers

Automatic drip coffee makers work best with medium grinds. Picture in your mind (or look at if you have some in your cupboard) the coffee grinds that you would buy from the supermarket. Medium grinds are best in this situation. The grinds look like brown sand. So remember the last time you went to the beach but instead of seeing the sand in between your toes, imagine seeing sand in your coffee maker. In this situation ensure that you do not get carried away and over grind the coffee beans. For an automatic coffee maker the coffee must not be ground to fine.

Espresso maker

Finally if your using an espresso maker, you want those fine powdery grinds that you’ve been trying to avoid when making coarse and medium grinds. Grind away until you are happy, the finer the ground coffee the better. One of the best espresso coffee makers that we recommend is the Delonghi EC710

Coffee or the word cafe is all you would like to hear after a long work or right after you wake up. This is the most widely drunk beverage in the world. Coffee ingestion on an average is about a third of that of tap water in North America and Europe . While drinking coffee outside is usually expensive and preferred mostly during conversations or meetings, deals etc., many of us would prefer to make coffee ourselves at home and drink it in the company of our family members or drink it ourselves. Over the years, this art of brewing coffee has been mastered and we can make the best brewed coffee ourselves, but this has been taken over by our need to automate the coffee brewing art so that our work is made easier.
