Obesity definition is very straightforward. In simple words obesity is defined as a condition of being overweight. An individual’s weight must be in proportion with his or her height, that signifies within the body mass index (BMI). The perfect BMI is within 18.5 to 24.9. So, in clinical terms Body mass index of 30 and above is defined as obesity.

Obesity has bad effects on the complete health and lifestyle of an individual. Individuals who are overweight become very passive since because they discover it hard to enter in plenty of everyday activities. It is hard for them to move, they are all the time exhausted and they risk of becoming ill with diverse sorts of sicknesses going from cardiovascular, cancer, diabetes, and numerous others.

Causes of Obesity

It is already recognized that most frequent reasons for obesity can be sedentary lifestyle, high consumption of calories and even scientific reasons (like psychiatric, medical and genetic causes). As previously said, a inert and unmoving way of living is the first on the list of factors which cause obesity. An individual finds it troublesome to exercise or take up some sport, which bit by bit has bad influence on his weight turning him into an obese person.

It is genetics which is another cause of obesity. It has been discovered that the gene for obesity has been transmitted from generation to generation. Thus, the kids whose parents are obese show a tendency to be obese. Individuals who are afflicted with genetic factors for obesity have a lot of difficulty with losing weight in the long term.
Moreover, obesity may appear because of some psychological problems. It implies that people tend to overeat when they are sad, upset, mad, even drooping with something that, as a consequence, leads to obesity. As well, some diseases and conditions like Cushing’s syndrome, Hypothyroidism, Depression, and certain neurological problems cause overeating which in turn causes accumulation of excessive fat in the organism.

Even so, the most standard reason why people overeat is that they lack time to consume healthy food snce they are overloaded with lots of duties. Disordered schedules have contributed to the consumption of fast and processed food, which, on one hand, lacks in vitamins and minerals and, on the other, has too much calories.

So, how can an individual get rid of obesity?

Obese people consider that they will be fat till the end of their life and that they will never lose fat. Of course this is nonsense, and the solution does exist. You may easily cure obesity if you are disciplined, have a strong will, and if you adopt the rules that you have to follow before you make up your mind to go on a diet. The crucial thing is to pick out the problem and then visit your doctor who will will recommend what to do taking into consideration your obesity problem.

Fortunately, there is a wide range of weight loss programs today, which make outstanding results. Or you may simply take some other methods that suit your demands, among which some may be really severe like obesity surgical operation or consumption of anti-obesity drugs.
