Webcam Suicide

This is a very sad story apparently a young man in Florida has committed suicide while filming it on his webcam. The young man made a post telling everyone he wanted to kill himself and apparently many people on the forum told him to do it. The deranged Internet users kept making posts until the guy actually took a lot of pills which eventually killed him. This entire episode was broadcast on Justin.tv and many people watched the event. It was several hours before these viewers finally realized that the guy was dead and phoned authorities. The video has been removed from the web, but according to stories around the net it caught the police coming into the room and then covering up the webcam with a piece of clothing to stop the broadcast of the webcam suicide.

I can’t understand why people are just so vicious and would not take the time to try and help the person instead of standing by during this webcam suicide.
