DNC Obama Nomination by Acclamation

Well its official the Democratic National Party has committed political suicide. The DNC anointed Obama with a Nomination by Acclamation vote. Earlier tonight Hillary Clinton formally released her delegates to Obama and a vote of the delegates anointed Obama the Democratic Nominee. Of course I don’t see a lot of difference in what happened with the Nomination by Acclamation vote than what has happened all through out the primaries. It seems to me the Obama was nominated by acclamation months ago when the leadership of the Democratic party decided to back Obama at all costs.
If you look at th epolls it does not seem that Obama is able to move at all against John Mccain in position. He did not receive any bounce when he announced Biden as his running mate last week and there has not really been any movement now that the Democratic convention is underway and dominating the news cycle. Historically either of these events will produce a considerable bounce in the polls once these types of activities happen. But with Obama this has not happened. Of course I thought this all along, Obama has no substance and you need substance to convince the American People you are qualified to be president. Obama just has not produced any proof that he is ready to lead. Of course this is the exact angle the Mccain camp is taking with the commercials they have been airing which use the words of Obama’s former adversaries Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton against Obama. Both Biden and Clinton said some pretty bad things against Obama during the campaign mostly surrounding his inability to lead the country.
Then you have Hillary’s speech last night, which in my humble opinion was one of the best speeches she ever delivered, where she gave the neccesary allcades to anoint Obama the democratic nominee and set up the nomination by acclamation vote taken today. While Hillary did endorse Obama she also spent a lot of time talking about her accomplishments. And of course there was also the nice little dig she gave to Michelle Obama when Hillary stated she was Proud to be an American.
Well in a few minutes Bill Clinton will be speaking and with his ability to captivate a crowd, it may turn out to be interesting. Bill is a former president so Obama can’t really tell him what to say or what not to say. I’ve seen enough comments by President Clinton to know he does not care a lot for Barak Obama. I would not be surprised to see Bill slam Obama in a way that could be a slam, but could also mean something totally different.
This nomination by acclamation is the closet Obama will ever be to the presidency.
