Obama supporters are not helping Obama

There have been a lot of comments around the web the Barak Obama hired people to spend time commenting on blogs in support of Obama’s campaign. I’m not sure if these people are paid or just really passionate about their preferred candidate. Regardless paid bloggers are not the purpose of this post.

I’m sure you have heard that Obama has launched a microsite designed to help dispel the rumors that have been flying around the net. The main rumor has been the Michelle Obama rant that Larry Johnson posted about and has been mentioned on Fox News. This is what the Obama Microsite says about this the alleged tape:

HillBuzz was the location where I read about this event and they did originally say it happened at Trinity on the Women’s Panel. Hillbuzz has since corrected their post saying their original information identified Trinity as the location, but had since learned it was the Sheraton.

As I’ve always said I have no idea if this tape exists or not, but it is interesting that the Obama camp posted this especially the link to the web archive of the Rainbow/Push Coalition. Now the statement as demonstrated above says Michelle Obama was not on a panel which is correct from looking at the schedule. But she was there as a guest at the Women’s Luncheon. Its not clear whether this was just a luncheon or if like many Event Luncheon’s there are speeches by various people who organize the event. I’ve been to quite a few luncheons where there where Special Guests where invited and in everyone one the Special Guest was given an opportunity to speak. Now is this proof that she spoke at the event. Absolutely not, but it does lend itself to the possibility that she could have spoken and she was as a Women’s Event as reported by HillBuzz. So while no tape has been produced and we still have no idea if it does exist or what was said, part of the rumor has been proven to the accurate by the Obama campaign. She was at the Event; She was at an event which could be referred to as a Women’s Event. What is not known is whether she actually spoke at the Event or not. Here is a screen shot of the schedule

So this screen shot shows she was at the event. Of course what it also gives is more information about a specific event and who was in attendance at the event. This will provide information that could be used to search for other items which may or may no provide additional insight into this little mystery.

Fight the Smears Update

I posted a little while  ago about the new website Obama has launched to Fight The Smears. There have been a lot of rumors floating around the net about Obama so I’m guessing he feels the need to attempt to debunk those rumors. One of the rumors is that he refuses to place his hand over his heart in a salute to the flag. I’ll include it below for reference:

Now this smear is debunked by a video where he was apparently sitting in Congress and put his hand over his heart in salute to the flag. Of course he pretty much had his back to the camera, so its not really clear, but I will accept the fact that he did have his hand over his heart. Of course this does not explain this video:

It is very clear in this video that he did not put his hand over his heart even though everyone else on the stage did.

Fight The Smears

Barak Obama or one of his supporters has created a website designed to Fight the Smears as they call it. The site is located at http://www.fightthesmears.com and attempts to dispel some of the rumors running around the net about Barak Obama. I took a quick look at the site and it does seem to cover several of the many rumors running around the web. These range from the alleged Michelle Obama Whitey Video to rumors that Barak Obama would not release his birth certificate. Well this is all fine and dandy and I’m glad to see some official communication from the Obama camp on these rumors. Of course it does make me wonder why they feel the need to put up content on these subjects. Especially the Michelle Obama  Whitey video.
